The Stitch Designer lets you create your own patterns or adapt existing stitches directly on screen — freely placing and moving points to build a stitch step by step. Distance from center and from the previous point are displayed in millimeters. Your creations can be saved in "Personal Memory."

The Dual Feed feeds fabric from both the top and bottom simultaneously. It's especially helpful with velvet, terry cloth, jersey, faux leather, fleece, faux fur, quilted fabrics, patterned repeats, hems, zippers, patchwork, and appliqués.

The b79 comes with 208 built-in embroidery designs plus 7 embroidery alphabets. On the 5" touchscreen you can rotate, mirror, resize, or combine designs. The b79 HP adds 42 OESD Harry Potter designs and 10 exclusive HP designs, for 260 total.

The maximum embroidery area is 260 × 160 mm (10.2" × 6.3"). You can resize designs directly on the touchscreen, enlarging or reducing by up to 20% — no extra software needed.

Yes — import designs via USB. Supported formats: EXP, PES, DST, PEC, JEF, VP3, VIP, HUS, and ZHS. The native format is BERNINA EXP, consisting of an .exp file (stitch data), .bmp file (preview), and .inf file (color information).

Select your fabric type, then your project type, and the Creative Consultant recommends the most suitable stitch, presser foot, needle, and optionally stabilizer and thread type. It's a built-in decision assistant for every sewing situation.

The programmable Foot Control lets you operate key machine functions with the pedal's heel press. By default it triggers needle up/down. You can reassign it to: automatic securing (backstitching), automatic thread cutter, or presser foot position.

Four bright LEDs in two locations evenly illuminate the entire sewing and embroidery area. Brightness is adjustable directly on the touchscreen to suit your environment.
